Motorcycle Rights Organizations
ABATE of Illinois — A state-based Motorcycle Rights Organization (MRO) of which the DuKane Chapter is a part. First incorporated in 1975, ABATE of Illinois is quite active, well-respected, and influential in matters of state and local government affecting Illinois motorcyclists.
Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) — This MRO is “chiefly concerned with issues at the national and international levels that impact the freedom and safety of American street motorcyclists.” The MRF works closely with various state MRO’s.
American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) — Another national MRO, this is a multifaceted organization that gets involved with federal, state, and local issues. The AMA also sanctions motorsports competition and recreational events.
