
DuKane ABATE Toy Run Task Force
We have several positions for those who want to help us plan, fund, and promote the Toy Run during the course of the year.
Marketing Coordinator
-Work with your DuKane ABATE BOD to advertise our Toy Run on social media, print, posters, hand out cards, and ads of all nature. Spread the word!
Public Relations Coordinator
-Work with your DuKane ABATE BOD and Volunteers to speak with various other groups and organizations about participating with our Toy Run and sharing our promotional material.
Volunteer Coordinator
-Work with Events Coordinator Chris Newman to contact, confirm, communicate with all volunteers to assure everyone has guidance of where to be, when to be there, and what to do. Requires working with an Excel spreadsheet as well as communicating by phone, email, text.
Charities Coordinator
-Work with our revered President Emeritus Judy Kaenal to contact, recruit, and coordinate various Toy Run charities.
Vendor Coordinator
-Work with our esteemed President Emeritus Judy Kaenal to contact, recruit, and coordinate various Toy Run vendors.
Donations Assistant
-Work with our BOD Member Amy Nelson to collect donations and sponsorships from local people and businesses.
Products Coordinator
-Work with your DuKane ABATE BOD to procure and sell ABATE products on-line and at the Toy Run.
Event Volunteers
These positions are for the setup, handling, and teardown of the Toy Run.
Grounds
Volunteers needed: 10
-Work with coordinator in setting up snow fencing, picnic tables, indoor tables, port-a-lets, and garbage cans.
-Tear down all fencing and banners at end of event.
Time Commitment:
Prior to event varies. Saturday: 2-3 hours
Event Day, 8am-Close
Vendors
Volunteers needed: 2
-Work with previous vendors and find new vendors
-Check in vendors, get paperwork completed, and collect vendor fees.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 8am-Close
Stage Area
Volunteers needed: 6
-Set up and tear down the stage on Saturday and Sunday.
-Assist in setting up and tearing down for bands and other activities on the stage.
Time Commitment:
Saturday: 3-4 hours
Event Day: 9:30am-Close
Registration – Sycamore Speedway
Volunteers needed: 6
-Take entrance fees and donations at Sycamore Speedway and have attendees sign indemnity forms.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 8am-3:30pm
Registration – Elburn
Volunteers needed: 18
-Take entrance fees and donations in Elburn and have attendees sign indemnity forms.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 10:30am-1:30pm
Products
Volunteers needed: 6
-Work with coordinator on product set up and sales.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 8am-Close
Charities
Volunteers needed: 6
2 on the ground, 4 on the trailers
-Help coordinator check in charities, receive donations and sort, line charities up and distribute goods.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 10am-2:30pm
Parking
Volunteers needed: 12
-Work with coordinator in setting up parking.
-Direct attendees at start to registration area.
-Work in conjunction with security on any issues arising during the parking process.
-Work on parade route return parking.
Time Commitment:
Event Day: 8am-parade return. Scale down after parade return.
Elburn Site
Volunteers needed: 10
-Work with site coordinator in directing traffic & registration.
-Work in conjunction with security on any issues arising during the parking process.
Time Commitment:
Set up on Saturday if needed.
Event Day: 9:00am-1:30pm.
Security
Volunteers needed: 12
-Work with security coordinator backstage, grounds, parking and hanger. May also need to work at Elburn Site.
-MUST BE calm, sober, and steady.
Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteers needed: 6
-Work with coordinator to check in volunteers and distribute lanyards and wristbands.
Toy & Food Collection Boxes
Volunteers needed: 6
-Distribute toy donation boxes prior to event and pick up donation boxes on the Saturday of Toy Run weekend.
-Help count and record donations on Saturday night.
